Adult Education/Adult Sunday School

Covers a variety of spiritual and Methodist studies and includes a special Advent and Lenten study. Also included for adults are Disciple Bible and Upper Room Companion studies that involve a more in depth study of the bible and spiritual meanings.

  • A summer study of Christian feast days and special occasions for worship is being offered during the summer on Tuesday evenings.
  • Everyone is invited to the Education Open House Day being scheduled during the first week of September. The event will include an introduction to the upcoming year’s study plans and ideas for further studies.
  • Please contact the Church Office for further information and/or scheduled class and open house dates.

Three membership exploration classes are presented annually in three different sessions. The fourth session is a welcoming luncheon sponsored by PUMC’S Church Council. If you are interested in attending these classes, please contact PUMC office staff or dates and times and further information.

The Companions in Christ series offers small groups a powerfully transforming experience in spiritual formation. All resources in the series explore classic spiritual practices, and invite participants to develop daily patterns that open their lives to a deepening relationship with God and one another.

The foundational study of Companions in Christ is a 28-week small group experience in spiritual formation. The study includes five parts/units: Christian journey, scripture, prayer, call, and spiritual guidance. Participants encounter inviting and often challenging reading in a participant’s guide each day. The daily exercise commitment is about thirty minutes. The week closes with a two-hour group session where participants can share their thoughts, reflect together, and take part in a variety of group learning experiences.
